Spotted marsh orchid (dactylorhiza maculata), so named after the appearance of the leaf, which has a kind of 'freckles', whereas the leaf of the common marsh orchid is uniformly green. The flowers vary in colour from deep pink, to lilac or, as here pale pink. I thinkthese flowers have something magical and they are of course very elegant and delicate. Exotic beauties in the Dutch polder.

Gevlekte rietorchis (dactylorhiza maculata), zo genoemd naar het uiterlijk van het blad, dat een soort van 'sproeten' heeft,, waar het blad van de gewone rietorchis egaal groen is. De bloemen kunnen variëren in kleur van diep pink, tot lila of, zoals hier bleek roze. Ik vind ze altijd iets magisch hebben en ze zijn natuurlijk heel elegant en delicaat. Exotische schoonheden in de Nederlandse polder.
